Austin, Texas - January 19, 2023: Artificial intelligence professional services firm KUNGFU.AI announced today that Dr. Lawrence Gray has joined as Director of Engineering, helping lead the engineering team. Larry comes to KUNGFU.AI from cloud-based managed accounting company, KPMG Spark, where he was Head of Data Science.
KUNGFU.AI’s focus is on partnering with clients to achieve large cycles of change that allow the client to lead in the age of AI. The Director of Engineering will play a significant part in this by leading the engineering teams that develop industry leading solutions for clients.

During his career, Larry gained domain expertise in Accounting (KPMG) and Geospatial Intelligence (Maxar Technologies). He holds a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Physiology from Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in computational biology at the National Institutes of Health. When not working on machine learning, he volunteers his time to open science initiatives such as NumFocus, where he is a member of their Board of Directors.
